QC Solar's Rapid Shutdown Device Successfully Obtains Authoritative Certification From TÜV Rheinland
QC Solar's independently developed Smarttrack04 and Smarttrack05 photovoltaic Rapid Shutdown devices have successfully passed rigorous testing and evaluation by TÜV Rheinland, a renowned international certification body, and have officially obtained TÜV Rheinland certification. This marks QC Solar's core technological capabilities and product quality in the field of photovoltaic system safety having gained international recognition, adding another layer of robust protection for the safe and reliable operation of photovoltaic power plants worldwide.
Photovoltaic rapid shutdown devices are critical equipment for ensuring personal safety and fire rescue safety in photovoltaic systems. In the event of a system failure (such as a fire or maintenance) or the need for emergency shutdown, the high-voltage DC current in traditional photovoltaic arrays continues to exist, posing a serious risk of electric shock to rescue personnel and maintenance staff. The core function of a rapid shutdown device is to rapidly reduce the output voltage of photovoltaic modules or strings to a safe voltage level (such as 80V or 30V as required by NEC standards) within an extremely short timeframe (typically within seconds), effectively eliminating the risk of “DC high-voltage arcing” and creating necessary conditions for personnel safety and fire rescue operations.
TUV Rheinland, as a globally authoritative certification body, its certification mark symbolizes that the product meets international high standards in terms of safety, quality, and performance, and serves as a key passport for entering global high-end markets, especially developed countries and regions such as Europe and the United States. The fact that QC Solar photovoltaic rapid shutdown device has obtained TUV Rheinland certification fully demonstrates that the product fully meets the requirements of international mainstream standards (such as IEC 62109-1, IEC 61000-6-1/3, etc.) in core metrics such as electrical safety, environmental adaptability, electromagnetic compatibility, and functional reliability.
QC Solar PV Modules Level Solutions
QC Solar has launched the new generation of Module-Level rapid shutdown devices Smarttrack04 & Smarttrack05, which comply with standards such as IEC62109-1, IEC61000-6-1/3, CSA C22.2 No.330, and UL1741. In emergency situations or during maintenance, these two products can rapidly reduce the system voltage of a 1500V system to a safe voltage range within 30 seconds, quickly lowering the voltage of each connected photovoltaic module. This eliminates the dangerous high-voltage DC present in photovoltaic systems and reduces the risk of electric shock.
The Smarttrack04, a new generation of PV Modules level rapid shutdown devices, is characterized by its small size, support for 1.25 times current overmatching, support for 1625W high-power PV Modules, and support for factory pre-installation of PV Modules.
1.SMOJ (Module Pre-Installation) Solution
Housing installation provides further convenience, compatible with any module production line, enabling factory pre-installation of modules without affecting existing module testing procedures (IV, EL, etc.). It also supports EPC on-site installation, maintaining existing construction and installation practices while reducing traditional metal clamp installation costs. Throughout the entire lifecycle, it enables quick disassembly and reassembly. The pre-installation method can reduce wiring harness costs by 33% and save 50% on labor installation costs.

2.Snap-on Frame Method
3.Dual-channel rapid shutdown device Smarttrack05
Smarttrack05 can connect two photovoltaic modules. In emergency situations, this product allows for manual, rapid disconnection of the connection between photovoltaic modules, thereby eliminating the DC high voltage present in the photovoltaic system array, reducing the risk of electric shock, and addressing rescue risks.
3.High-current support design
Smarttrack05 is equipped with a dedicated integrated chip and high-temperature-resistant power semiconductor devices. It supports an input current of 30A and a total input power of 4000W for photovoltaic modules, ensuring stable operation under extreme environmental conditions. It supports full voltage range without derating and supports 1.13 times current redundancy over-provisioning. It is widely applicable to residential and commercial rooftops.
Currently, QC Solar's independently developed new generation module-level rapid shutdown devices, Smarttrack04&Smarttrack05, have obtained international authoritative certifications from TUV Rheinland and CSA, and meet the electrical safety and regulatory standards of IEC62109-1, IEC61000-6-1/3, UL 1741, CSA C22.2 No. 330, and NEC-2017/NEC-2020/NEC-2023, and is compatible with the Sunspec communication protocol. Smarttrack04 supports 1625W power, while Smarttrack05 supports 4000W power, providing enhanced protection for residential and commercial/industrial photovoltaic applications.
As global PV installation capacity continues to rise and countries impose increasingly stringent safety requirements for PV systems, rapid shutdown devices have become a standard feature in PV power plants. QC Solar will continue to invest in R&D, optimize product performance, and actively promote the improvement and implementation of relevant safety standards, collaborating with industry chain partners to jointly safeguard the green and safe future of the PV industry.
